Our Vision
"We believe a patient’s postcode should never determine their health outcomes. Our Telehealth Nephrology service is built on the principle that living in a rural or regional area should not be a barrier to specialist expertise. We are dedicated to ensuring that a patient's location does not compromise their care, providing the same high standards found in major cities without the need for long-distance travel."
For Referrers: Partnering for Health Equity
Rapid Access: We offer specialist appointments within 2 weeks, with urgent cases often seen within days.
Zero Out-of-Pocket Costs: To support health equity, we offer bulk billing for patients living in eligible MM 4–7areas.
Seamless Integration: We handle the technology. You provide the clinical background, and we provide the specialist expertise.
Electronic Continuity: Prescriptions and pathology/imaging requests are sent electronically to the patient or their preferred providers immediately.
To facilitate a timely consultation, please forward referrals to telehealth.nephrology@gmail.com or via Healthlink at drzahtet. We kindly request that you include the patient's most recent pathology (specifically UEC, eGFR, and ACR) and any relevant imaging reports.
Living in a rural area shouldn't mean waiting months or driving hours to see a kidney specialist. Our Telehealth service brings the clinic to you.
No Travel Required: See your Nephrologist from your living room using your phone, tablet, or laptop.
No Cost for Eligible Patients: If you live in a regional area (MM 4-7), your appointment is bulk-billed with no out-of-pocket expenses.
Fast Appointments: Don’t wait months. We can usually see you within 14 days.
Privacy You Can Trust: We use secure, medical-grade software (Coviu). Your consultation is private and is never recorded.
How do I get my prescriptions or blood test forms? These are sent electronically directly to you or your local pharmacy/pathology lab during or immediately after your appointment.
Is it as good as a face-to-face visit? For most nephrology consultations, Telehealth is highly effective. We review your blood results, blood pressure, and symptoms in real-time. If we feel a physical examination is absolutely necessary, we will coordinate with your local GP.
What equipment do I need? Just a device with a camera and microphone (like a smartphone) and a quiet place to talk.
What if I lose my connection? Don't worry! If the internet drops out, your specialist will simply call you on your home or mobile phone to finish the consultation.
Yes! If you can open a text message or watch a YouTube video, you can use our service.
No Downloads: You don’t need to install any apps or create accounts.
One-Click Access: We send a link to your phone or email. You simply click the link, and you are in the virtual waiting room.
Basic Internet is Fine: You do not need high-speed fiber internet. A standard mobile data connection is usually more than enough.
